Summer Activities for the Family

Is it that time of year again already? The kids are soon to be out of school for the summer and you may be wondering what fun things you can do with the whole family this summer. Well, we are here to give you some ideas.

We live in this beautiful state of Utah that has so many astonishing outdoor hiking trails to experience. In Provo, there is the Slate Canyon Trail and the Indian Road trail head. Depending on where you live, the Elephant Rock trail head in Bountiful is a beautiful and moderately easy hike through a forest of cottonwoods that leads to a view of the valley that will take your breath away.

Do you want to go camping without leaving your home? All you need is a blow-up mattress, some blankets, and Smore’s and you will be set to have a camp out on your patio done by Sunsational Home Improvement. Turn off all the lights and you can bask under the star covered sky with your kiddos.

Do you need to beat the heat without spending a ton of money to take the family to the local water park? Have a water balloon fight in the back yard with the whole family. If you have younger children and you are worried about any choking hazards that come with water balloons, try using sponges dipped in water as an alternative.

The school year isn’t the only time for your kiddos to learn something. Summertime is as good as any time to take your children to a local museum. This can be a fun activity for the whole family and your kids will enjoy the learning experience.

Do you have crafty kids? Set up sheets of butcher paper on the back deck and let your children have fun with some finger paint. Because you will be doing this outside, you can let them get as messy as you want. When you’re done run through the sprinklers to clean off and cool off.

We hope this list of summer activities gives you and your kiddos some fun ideas for this summer.
